Pub and off-licence staff urged to take free Show Me I.D – Be Age OK training
With the busy Christmas season over, and the new year underway, pub and off-licence staff encouraged to avail of free training from the Show Me I.D – Be Age OK’ campaign, The ongoing Winter 2024/2025 ‘Show Me I.D – Be Age OK’ Winter Campaign is being supported by the Vintners’ Federation of Ireland (VFI).
The campaign’s online training module continues to serve as a vital resource for staff, equipping them with the knowledge to handle real-world situations.
Addressing scenarios
It addresses key scenarios such as identifying acceptable forms of identification and managing attempts by minors to purchase restricted items.
Accessible on computers, phones, and tablets, the module ensures staff are prepared for challenges throughout the year.
As of the end of 2024, 459 staff members had completed the training module, showcasing the sector’s dedication to upholding compliance standards.
The VFI, a strong supporter of Show Me ID, emphasises the need for ongoing training to ensure consistent application of these principles in quieter trading periods.
Encouraging participation
To encourage continued participation, the campaign’s competition remains open until 6 pm on Friday, 17 January 2025.
Staff who complete the training module can enter to win a €100 One4All gift card.
A focused social media campaign is running alongside the initiative, keeping retailers and hospitality workers informed about best practices for selling age-restricted products.
