Irish gin wins big at Gin Masters Awards
This competition is conducted in partnership with The Spirits Business and consists of a series of blind-tasting evaluations that cover one of the fastest-growing spirit categories in the world over the last 10 years.
The awards continue to grow, with close to 500 submissions for the blind-tasting competition in 2022. The Drinks Ireland members took home awards across eight categories including Masters, Gold and Silver awards.
Rademon Estate Distillery won two Masters across Ultra-Premium and Contemporary while Lough Ree won one for its Cask-Aged Gin.
“We believe it is the fine alchemy of people, provenance and process that has created the abundance of quality gin products we have today which has been recognised with multiple award-winning gins from both established and newer distilleries,” said David Boyd-Armstrong, Head Distiller and Founder of one of the award-winners, Rademon Estate Distillery.
And according to Vincent McGovern, Director of Spirits at Drinks Ireland, “Our recently announced Irish Gin Strategy for 2022-2026 demonstrates that the sector will continue to grow from strength-to-strength”.
