Introducing Von Hallers Gin

Dalcassian Wines & Spirits has introduced Von Hallers gin, slow-distilled in Ireland with hand-picked botanicals from Germany.

Just over a year ago Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin took the country by storm and now its curious creator PJ Rigney has embarked on a new botanical journey with his German friend Count Carl Von Hardenberg Jr.

Having come over to learn hand-distillation at The Shed Distillery in Drumshanbo, Co Leitrim, where he discovered Irish botanicals and distilling with gleaming medieval copper pot stills, the Count developed an attachment to the wild North West of Ireland. Upon his return to Germany he dreamed of a recipe that combined the meticulous approach of his homeland with the freedom and inventiveness of Ireland.

The quest began at one of the world’s oldest botanical gardens in Göttingen where Carl hand-picked German ginger and lemon verbena and brought them to The Shed Distillery to be slow-distilled by hand with fresh Irish Angelica. The result: Von Hallers small-batch gin – “aromatic, distinctive and pure”.

Only available in Germany and Ireland, Von Hallers Gin is a treasure for gin aficionados, designed for very special occasions and as a meaningful gift for gin connoisseurs who appreciate the rare and remarkable.

Serve Von Hallers with premium ginger beer, large ice cubes and a small wedge of orange. This signature serve is developed around two of the gin’s core botanicals – German ginger and orange zest.
