Poachers bags top prize
The top accolade of the competition, the Taste Master (best of the best), was awarded to Poachers Wild Tonic with Irish Elderflower, a blend of hand-picked Irish Elderflower, fresh Lemon and natural Quinine.
Launched in 2008, The Spirits Business Global Masters Series of blind-tasting competitions aims to find and recognise excellence in spirits and mixers on the world stage.
The Global Spirits Masters claims to be unique in its exclusive use of completely independent expert judges including journalists, retail buyers, bartenders and educators. This year is the first year that the Tonic and Mixers category has been recognised so Poachers Wild Tonic becomes the first-ever winner, chosen from over 95 products from around the world.
Made sustainably in Ireland, the finely-balanced lower in sugar drinks embrace natural Irish ingredients. Poachers Drinks can be enjoyed as a mixer to delicately enhance and never overwhelm premium spirits or as a sophisticated no alcohol serve, claims the company.
Poachers won a number of medals at the competition: the Master Medal for its Wild Tonic with Irish Elderflower; four Golds for Poachers Citrus Tonic With Irish Rosemary, Poachers Classic Tonic With Irish Thyme, Poachers Light Tonic With Irish Rosemary and Poachers Ginger Beer With Irish Chilli as well as a Silver for Poachers Ginger Ale With Irish Apple.
The Poachers range is available from www.poachersdrinks.com. A pack of 24 200ml bottles costs €26 with shipping in Ireland and Northern Ireland.
