Revenue seizes €16m worth of contraband in Rosslare
This seizure is part of Revenue’s ongoing operations targeting organised crime groups
As a result of risk profiling and with the assistance of Revenue’s x-ray scanner and detector dog Jasper, Revenue officers recently seized approximately 783 kgs of herbal cannabis and 70 kgs of cannabis resin, with an estimated value of approximately €16,086,000, at Rosslare Europort.
The illicit drugs were discovered when Revenue officers, with the assistance of An Garda Síochána, stopped and searched an unaccompanied freight unit which had disembarked a ferry from Bilbao, Spain.
Investigations are ongoing.
