Rioja’s 100km of Diversity trade tasting returns to The Westbury in Dublin
Registrations are now open for Rioja Wine Ireland’s renowned 100km of Diversity trade tasting, taking place 5 September at five-star contemporary hotel, The Westbury in Dublin.
Returning for a second year, members of the trade are invited to uncover the rich and diverse region of Rioja in a walkaround tasting through the region’s three zones.
The tasting will highlight the myriad styles produced across Rioja’s three zones – Alta, Alavesa and Oriental – and the region’s diverse terroir, from the finest Espumoso de Rioja, barrel-aged whites, elegant rosados, classic Gran Reservas and everything in between.
Visitors will have the opportunity to meet the region’s dynamic producers and importers, many of whom will be travelling from Rioja to share the unique stories behind their wines.
This year, the tasting will also shine a spotlight on one of the region’s most recently adopted classification categories – Viñedo Singulares – and there will be the chance for guests to sample exceptional older vintages and wines not yet available in Ireland.
Members of the trade will also have the opportunity to attend an exclusive seminar hosted by esteemed Rioja wine expert, Sarah Jane Evans MW. In the seminar “Beyond the Classics”, Sarah Jane will take guests on a tasting journey through some of the region’s newest styles, categories and more.
