Tesco still tops off-trade beer & wine share

Tesco increased its share of Beer and Wine sales among multiples, discounters and convenience stores from 25.4% of the total off-trade B&W market in the year to the 13th of June 2021 to 26.6% in the year to the 12th of June 2022 according to exclusive off-trade market share figures from Kantar.

Tesco therefore remains in prime position with SuperValu taking up second place with a share of 23.0%, down from 24.7%.

Dunnes Stores (which also lost share to Tesco, Aldi and Lidl among ‘others’) lies in third place with a 17.8% share, down on its 19.0% share.

On 12.2% Lidl follows Dunnes with an increase in share from 12.0%. Aldi has a 10.9% share, up from 9.9% while ‘others’ such as the independent off-licences grew their share to 9.5% from 9.0%.
