The Bridge 1859 – scrums expected

After months of speculation The Bridge 1859 was recently announced as the name of the Ballsbridge bar formerly known as Bellamy’s.

Recently acquired by Noel Anderson of The Grafton Lounge alongside Ireland and Leinster Rugby stars Jamie Heaslip, Sean O’Brien and brothers Rob & Dave Kearney, The Bridge 1859 hopes to welcome scrums of customers.

The bar is located right in the heart of Dublin’s rugby scene, close to both the Aviva Stadium and the RDS, ideal for fans before and after matches.

“For all of us it was important to get a name that paid homage to the history of the building and the area,” explained Jamie Heaslip, “We feel that The Bridge 1859 captures both – we’re located in Ballsbridge and the building was first used as a pub in 1859. We also wanted a name that was easy to roll off the tongue standing in the RDS or the Aviva.“

The Bridge 1859 has been completely redesigned. The bar counter has been lengthened and the premises now offers breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Currently recruiting full- and part-time bar and waiting staff, intending applicants can e-mail jobs@thebridge1859.ie for more information.
